Thomas Jefferson Youth Football League (TJYFL) Is the largest Youth football league in Central Virginia, with the lowest fees and the highest quality of instruction and competition. TJYFL has teams in Albemarle, Charlottesville, Fluvanna, Greene, Orange and Augusta Counties. In addition to this TJYFL is part of USA Football and the Virginia Youth Football Association. USA Football (http://usafootball.com/) is the National Governing body of youth football and USA Football is funded directly by the NFL to train only the highest quality youth football programs. TJYFL is the only USA Football league in Central Virginia.

Welcome to Thomas Jefferson Youth Football League (TJYFL), the largest youth football league in Central where the child comes first. TJYFL was formed with a vision to establish a football league that would give all children a place to play regardless of the child's size or financial background. TJYFL is committed to keeping the registration at an affordable rate so that all children have the opportunity to play. Unlike other leagues in which the goal is to make money for the National Organization. TJYFL primarily serves children who live in Albemarle, Augusta, Charlottesville, Fluvanna, Greene, Nelson and Orange; however, if you live outside one of these counties, you are still welcome to play.

Unlike other leagues, TJYFL divides its players into four age-based groups, which USA Football and the NFL have determined is the best way for the saftey of your child.

TJYFL keeps children of the same age and social development together by placing children within approximately two years of each other on the field to learn, develop, and compete against one another. TJYFL is both an instructional and competitive league. The competition however, must be confined to the field of play, and done so in such a manner that the game and all of the participants are respected. TJYFL will not tolerate the lack of sportsmanship in any form from players, coaches, parents, or fans. This includes any behavior that would reflect negatively on the league on and off of the playing field. TJYFL does acknowledge that winning is a part of athletic competition; however, the way you win is as important as winning itself. TJYFL will not accept anything less than respect for self, the other players, coaches, fans, and most importantly - respect for the game.

If your child was born between 2007 and 1997, ages 8 to 14, your child can play. Our Pro Style camp is held each Monday and Thursday beginning June 18th through July 27th at Darden Towe Park from 6 to 8 PM. The cost is $50.00. Practice begins the first week of August. You will need a Medical release, a copy of your child's birth certificate..
